DESCRIPTION:If the church is to continue making new disciples\, spreading s
criptural holiness\, and otherwise impacting the world around us for the b
etter\, then those efforts must be supported and facilitated regularly.\nM
any churches fall away from these considerations over time. It is easier t
o attend to those who are already here\, whom we already know\, rather tha
n to continually direct our minds towards the unknown. \nYet the Lord con
tinues to call many to glory through His church on the earth. Are we ready
to be his instrument of salvation in the lives of new folks who come to u
s? How do we prepare?\nThe Missisippi-West Tennessee Conference is aware t
hat many of our local churches need some help jump-starting our ministries
towards disciple-making and multiplication. Toward that end\, they have p
artnered with Crosspoint Church in Niceville\, FL to host trainings for ou
r people across the conference. The name of this ministry is the Re-Awaken
ing Initiative. \nIf you are interested to know more about this program a
nd it's creator\, Rev. Jeremy Smith\, consider Brother Jeffrey's interview
with him here: https://youtube.com/live/W5FcpF8i83Y\nOur church will be h
osting a one-day event for ReAwakening on Sunday\, October 18 at 3:00 PM.
Other area local churches will be invited to attend\, as well. According t
o the website\, this event "equips pastors and church leaders in the Globa
l Methodist Church to renew their focus on disciple-making and mission. It
offers workshops\, online coaching\, and ongoing communities that help ch
urches put these ideas into practice."
